ASBO Eagle Institute: A Leadership Opportunity
Scharff, James
School Business Affairs, v78 n2 p27-29 Feb 2012
Each summer, ASBO International conducts an Eagle Institute leadership session in the Washington, D.C., area that provides a group of about 25 participants, including Eagle Award recipients, an opportunity to network with and learn from exemplary leaders inside and outside the field of school business management. Each year, the focus of the institute is leadership: leadership styles and effective leaders throughout history, including national political figures and military leaders, both past and present. In addition to guiding participants through an in-depth study of historic leaders, the presenters--leaders themselves--address contemporary leadership issues and leadership skills participants can apply in their own professional lives. ASBO International's annual Eagle Institute brings leadership into focus. The ASBO Eagle Institute is an exceptional professional development experience that the author recommends to all school business officials.
