Secretarial Technology/Office Technology. Volume III. Units X-XIV. Instructor's Guide.
Missouri Univ., Columbia. Instructional Materials Lab.
This curriculum guide is intended to assist business and office occupations teachers in preparing clerical and secretarial students to function in offices whose procedures and equipment are changing rapidly in the face of modern technology. Although the curriculum has been developed primarily for students enrolled in secondary-level vocational programs, some of the units are also suitable for postsecondary and adult classes. The following topics are covered in this volume of the curriculum: job search methods (sources of employment information, application forms and letters, resumes, interviews); client-related services; personal development (time management, business dress, techniques for keeping a job and setting personal goals); decision making and problem solving; and product-to-client transactions. Each unit contains unit and lesson objectives, competencies addressed in the unit, notes to the instructor, references, and one or more lessons. The individual lessons contain some or all of the following: information sheets, transparency masters, assignment sheets, answers to the assignment sheets, one or more posttests, and posttest key(s). A matrix that cross-references competencies addressed in the curriculum to Dictionary of Occupational Titles job classifications is also included. (MN)
