Hypnotizability and Dissociativity in Sexually Abused Girls.
Putnam, Frank W.; And Others
Child Abuse & Neglect: The International Journal, v19 n5 p645-55 May 1995
This study assessed the relationships among hypnotizability, clinical dissociation and traumatic antecedents in 54 sexually abused girls, ages 6 to 15 years, and 51 matched controls. There were no significant differences in hypnotizability between abuse and control subjects. However, in the abuse group, highly hypnotizable subjects were significantly more dissociative.
