This guide is designed to provide vocational education, single parent/displaced homemaker program directors, and other interested persons with information to help them support, establish, and conduct programs for single parents or displaced homemakers in the nine vocational education planning regions of Utah. It includes definitions and staff responsibilities and qualifications. Information is provided on the components of a single parent or homemaker program: outreach; pre-employment training; employment training, job development, placement, and follow-up; evaluation; inservice training/technical assistance; linkages; advisory committee and public relations; and funding sources and fiscal accountability. Each component is discussed in regard to objectives, suggested time frame, and implementation strategies; a checklist is also provided. A selected bibliography, sample intake form, and listing of Utah single parent/displaced homemaker programs are appended. (YLB)
