The relationship between achievement in track and field events (60, 100, 200, 400 meter runs and shotput, discus, and javelin throws) and selected physiological parameters (grip strength, body fat, vital lung capacity, and cardiovascular efficiency) of 20 wheelchair athletes was investigated. Results of track and field events were obtained from the State Wheelchair Games and athletes' physiological parameters were measured before participation. Data were analyzed by computing a Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Matrix involving the four physiological tests and the seven track and field events. Among conclusions were that Ss with greater grip strength were capable of throwing objects further than Ss with lower grip strength, greater grip strength produced lower running times, high body fat measures corresponded to faster running and greater lung capacity helped produce longer throwing distances.
