The report contains the information provided at the national hearing of the Architectural and Transportation Compliance Board regarding recreation for the handicapped. The bulk of the document consists of abstracts of testimony which included both written statements and cross examination questions from such individuals as John H. Davis, executive director of the National Recreation and Parks Association; Benjamin Gary, Jr., president of the American Society of Landscape Architects; Craig Huber, recreation director of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Greater Hartford; Lee Meyer, president of the National Therapeutic Recreation Society; and Julian U. Stein, consultant on programs for the handicapped of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Witnesses are identified by the organization and part of the country represented and the witness's role in recreation for the disabled. This information is usually followed by the witness's introductory statement detailing problems encountered in seeking, planning, providing, or using recreational facilities and sites and providing suggestions for solving problems.
