Lazarus and Benner to Lead NASP

This article reports on the National Association of School Psychologists's (NASP) recently concluded elections in which Philip Lazarus from Florida and Ronald Benner from Connecticut will now be part of the NASP Executive Council in July 2010 as president-elect and treasurer, respectively. NASP members voted at the highest levels in 6 years and elected these two officers in addition to 17 state delegates. Phil Lazarus is an associate professor and director of the school psychology training program at Florida International University and has been involved in training graduate students and serving as an advocate for children and the profession for more than 30 years. Ron Benner brings to his new position a 40-year career in education, including 16 years as a special education teacher and 22 years as a school psychologist. He has been treasurer of the Connecticut Association of School Psychologists for the last 10 years and has held various leadership roles within NASP.
