This electronics curriculum is intended to provide instructors of electronics with a useful guide for relating important new technological advances to the vocational classroom. The competency-based learning activity guides are written to be used with any electronics equipment available at the secondary and postsecondary levels. Instructors must add specific instructions for operating their own equipment. The 117 guides --one per task--are divided into 11 units: analyzing DC circuits, analyzing AC circuits, analyzing solid state devices, analyzing analog circuits, analyzing digital electronic circuits, performing microprocessing operations (1 and 2), performing lab practices, recording and reporting technical material, using technical references, and introduction to control systems. Each guide consists of an overview (specifying task, purpose, objective, estimated class time), a list of learning steps, a list of resources, information sheet(s), activity sheet(s) with answer sheet(s), performance/product checklist, and examination with answer key. Appendixes include an analysis of the science and mathematics concepts considered prerequisite or co-requisite to understanding the content of the electronics course, a crosswalk--an electronics cluster matrix (relating tasks to sections of the curriculum guide), and a listing of employability skills.
