This document contains vocational education program courses standards (curriculum frameworks and student performance standards) for exploratory courses, practical arts courses, and job preparatory programs offered at the secondary or postsecondary level in Florida. Each program courses standard is composed of two parts: a curriculum framework and student performance standards. The curriculum framework includes four major sections: major concepts and content, laboratory activities, special notes, and intended outcomes. Student performance standards are listed for each outcome. Program and course standards are based on competencies required for entry, advancement, and upgrading in occupations covered by courses in industrial education. Course content includes the following topics, among many others: journalism, automotive mechanics, drafting, masonry, air conditioning and heating service, air traffic control, auto body repair, barbering, barge and boat operation, cabinetmaking and millwork, commercial art, commercial photography, sheet metal work, television production, welding building construction technology, carpentry, clock and watch repair, commercial art, drafting, diesel engine mechanics, cosmetology, electronic technology, industrial machinery maintenance and repair, instrument repair, jewelry manufacturing and repair, office machine maintenance, meat cutting, multimedia technology, printing and graphic arts, plumbing, bus driver training, tile setting, upholstery and furniture refinishing, and vending and recreational machine repair.
