"Bring Your Textbook!" Using Secondary Texts to Assess Reading Demands and Skills Required for Students with High-Incidence Disabilities
King-Sears, Margaret E.; Duke, Jodi M.
Intervention in School and Clinic, v45 n5 p284-293 2010
It is important for special educators to have a strong repertoire of diagnostic methods to determine how well students with high-incidence disabilities are accessing, reading, and remembering content from textbooks used in their middle and high school classes. Suggestions for using the diagnostic information to guide specialized instruction responsive to the students' needs are identified. (Contains 1 table and 4 figures.)
