Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development
As the United States stands on the brink of a new era in American history with new leaders, fresh ideas, and a strong feeling of optimism for the future, everyone has an important opportunity to get the nation's education policy right. Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) recommends that as policymakers reshape the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965/No Child Left Behind (ESEA/NCLB), they take the time to speak with the people who understand the issues best: educators. ASCD supports policy that focuses on educating the whole child. The recommendations for the reauthorization of the ESEA/NCLB presented in this paper provides educators with the capacity to increase student achievement and prepare young people to be engaged citizens, productive workers, and innovative leaders.
