Messengers of the Extraordinary: The Role of Souvenirs in Academic Development
McGugan, Stuart; Petichakis, Christos
International Journal for Academic Development, v14 n3 p233-235 Sep 2009
People use souvenirs as an aide-memoire of their holiday experiences, much in the same way as the postcards were used to remind participants of the event they attended. But many people also use souvenirs as a catalyst to share their holiday experiences with others. In this article, the authors explore the role of souvenirs in academic development. They believe that souvenirs provide academic developers with a novel way to support staff development. (Contains 2 figures.)
