This final report of a curriculum research project conducted to develop a competency based curriculum for the mining and related industries is presented in three parts. First, the activities that took place during the last two months of the project are summarized. Second, an overview of the accomplishments of the project during the entire funding period of fourteen months is reported. Finally, a self-assessment of the curriculum development process is presented in the following ten stages: formation of the general advisory committee; formation of the technical advisory committee; development of task title listing; interviews with miners; writing the task sheets; developing the recommended courses of study; review and evaluation; dissemination; implementation; and updating and revising the curriculum. A chart illustrating current progress and curricular areas which need further development concludes the report. (BM)
