Right Back at 'Cha--Boomerang Activity Provides Educational Returns
Campbell, Brian
Tech Directions, v71 n9 p21-23 Apr 2012
Motivating students to get actively involved in the curriculum and understand the application of academic content has been a challenge for many educators. Technology education instructors have traditionally had little difficulty showing their students the connection between their classroom and lab learning and a practical application of the skills and knowledge in which they are gaining competence. However, it has not been as easy for core academic curriculum instructors--including physics teachers--to demonstrate that connection. In this article, a boomerang design and construction project helps students connect academics with real-world applications--in an activity in which they also have some fun! (Contains 6 photos.)
