Thompson, Jane; Cook, Mike; Cottrell, Derek; Miller, Bill; Lewis, Roger
Quality Assurance in Education, v6 n2 p97-105 1998
A British university developed an institutional framework for identifying and rewarding excellence in teaching, using essential criteria (teaching excellence, peer reputation, dean's support, academic leadership) and desirable criteria (research, scholarship, publication, consultancy, external liaison, and administration). Results included a new promotions policy, a research/writing group, and a higher profile for teaching and learning. (SK)
