The Center for In-Service Education. Final Evaluation Report. Volume II. Part 1.
Tennessee State Dept. of Education, Nashville.
This is an overview of the extensive in-service education inventory conducted as an integral portion of the planning contract for Models for In-Service Education supported by the Tennessee State Department of Education under Title III, Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The narrative descriptions are free of extensive statistical references to promote both understanding and application of the information derived from the 23 participating school systems. Thirteen of these participating systems were county systems; 10 were special district or city school systems. Information presented for each system includes the number of days allowed for various kinds of in-service programs, provisions for planning and developing in-service programs, judgment of the adequacy of the programs, progress made in programming, self-identified needs, and procedures used for evaluation. Descriptions and evaluations of the 1971 and 1972 Farragut School workshops, training components in a long-range staff development project, conclude the document. (DDO)
