The proceedings of the 2nd annual Pittsburgh Conference on Art Therapy (with handicapped persons) consists of 44 items including full length papers, summaries of previously published papers, descriptions of workshops, and a limited number of abstracts (submitted by those who chose not to present a paper or workshop description). The papers are grouped into six parts, each beginning with an introduction. Part 1 deals with basic issues of percept and product. Parts 2 and 3 are concerned with the practice of art therapy in mental health facilities and educational institutions, with children and adults, individuals and groups. Part 4 focuses on the training of professionals in and through art therapy. Part 5 reflects on the creative process, and Part 6 concludes with the state of the arts in education and therapy. Contributions from professionals (primarily from western Pennsylvania) include not only art therapists, but also psychologists; psychoanalysts; movement, play, and drama therapists; specialists in child development; art history; and social work.
