This packet contains two units of informational materials and transparency masters, with accompanying scripts, for teachers to use in an animal science course in vocational agriculture. Unit A on breeds and selection of livestock and poultry includes 13 topics covering beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, horses, goats, sheep, and poultry. Unit B on handling livestock includes these six topics: handling and restraint of animals; castrating livestock; dehorning; branding, marking, ear notching, tagging and tattooing; docking sheep; and injection procedures.
