Jordanian Vocational, Secondary Education Teachers and Acquisition of the National Professional Standards
Al-Dajeh, Hesham I.
Education, v133 n1 p221-232 Fall 2012
The main purpose of this study was to estimate the level of acquisition of the Jordanian national professional standards by vocational, secondary education teachers. Two hundred teachers participated in the study. The data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS version 15.0. Questionnaire validity was assessed by content validity, and reliability was assessed by Cronbach's alpha. The results reveal that teachers demonstrated a high level of acquisition of five professional standards and an average level of acquisition of two professional standards. Socio-demographic variables, namely gender, qualifications, and experience, are not shown to influence teachers' level of acquisition of the national professional standards. (Contains 4 tables.)
