This document provides information on current Wisconsin statutes and state-level activities relating to the enforcement of controlled substances laws, including assistance provided to local law enforcement agencies. Part I of this document describes the Uniform Controlled Substances Act as enacted by Wisconsin, other statutes which may be used to assist drug enforcement efforts, and amendments to the Uniform Controlled Substances Act being considered by a drafting committee of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. Part II describes the activities of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Office of Justice Assistance (OJA) related to drug law enforcement including the OJA's administration grants under the Federal Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1986 and the Federal Anti-Drug Abuse Amendments Act of 1988. A 9-page appendix lists offenses and penalties for the following: controlled substances violations in the categories of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver; conspiracy to manufacture, deliver or possess with intent to manufacture or deliver controlled substances; possession of controlled substances; distributions of controlled substances to minors 3 or more years younger; distribution of controlled substances to prisoners; and distribution of a controlled substance on school premises.
