Familiarity-Based Responding in Item Recognition: Evidence for the Role of Spreading Activation.
Macht, Michael L.; O'Brien, Edward J.
Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Learning and Memory, v6 n3 p301-18 May 1980

The magnitude of the priming effect depended on both the taxonomic frequency of the probe items, and the length of the interval between the prime and the recognition test. (Author/RD)
