Pollution Probe.
Chant, Donald A.
This book is written as a statement of concern about pollution by members of Pollution Probe, a citizens' anti-pollution group in Canada. Its purpose is to create public awareness and pressure for the eventual solution to pollution problems. The need for effective government policies to control the population explosion, conserve natural resources, limit uncontrolled and destructive economic growth, and promote an effective national strategy for environmental quality management reflect the major concerns of the writers. Essays are entitled: The Living Spaceship, Consequences of Imbalance, The Air We Breathe, The Water We Drink, Pesticide Poisons, Noise Pollution, Macbarf, Radiation Pollution, Population and the Growth Ethos, Politics of Pollution, Corporate Morality, Northern Pressures, Communication and Education, Resource Management, Action Programs, "Do It" Kit, and Coda-A New Ethic. A selected reading list is included. (BL)
