Condor Data Base Tutorial Training for Data Processing Technicians at Naval Recruiting Command.
Cosby, John
A computer assisted instructional program was developed for teaching data processing technicians at Naval Recruiting Command in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to create database records using CONDOR Database Management System Software. The procedure used in developing the program was based upon the Dick and Carey model of instructional systems development. The first of seven chapters in this report provides an introduction to the project (including background, a statement of the problem, a description of the project's purpose, and an overview of methods and procedures used). The next five chapters describe activities at each stage of the development process: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. (Field test data are presented in the chapter on evaluation using tables and figures.) The final chapter includes a summary and recommendations. The 15 appendixes, which constitute more than half of the report, include the job and instructional task analyses, pre- and posttests, the lesson and screen sequence flowcharts, the instructional materials, and the questionnaire used for formative evaluation.
