This curriculum guide consists of a comprehensive list of competency-based performance objectives dealing with selected skill and knowledge competencies considered basic to the preparation of teacher-educators in residential building construction. Thirteen units of instruction subclassified into forty-one teaching sections are included with accompanying statements of objectives and instructional formats. Each section contains suggested teaching activities, instructional methods, instructional materials needed, and references. Also inlcuded are content information sheets, transparency masters, and assignment sheets with answers. The titles of the units are as follow: preconstructional planning; laying out the structure; building foundation masonry/concrete walls; forming, placing, and finishing concrete (horizontal); carpentry (framing the structure); carpentry (enclosing the structure); plumbing (rough-in); heating and cooling (rough-in); electrical (rough-in); carpentry (interior finish); painting and finishing; mechanical trades (completion); and landscape design.
