CDA (Child Development Associate) Instructional Materials. Assessing Competency: Tests for CDA Competencies (Experimental Edition). Book 7.
Hotvedt, Kathleen J.; Hotvedt, Martyn O.
This book of tests is designed to assess the competencies of the Child Development Associate (CDA) trainee: both what the trainee knows and how well the trainee works with children. The tests are designed as posttests to be administered after the trainee's completion of the relevant learning module. Each test consists of multiple choice questions, essay questions and demonstration questions which involve actual performance at the program site. The guide was designed for use by both the training counselor and the trainee in measuring progress and planning subsequent learning activities. Tests are included for each of the six competency areas stressed in the Instructional Materials. (These competencies include setting up a safe, healthy learning environment, advancing physical and intellectual competence, building positive self concept and individual strength, child and adult functioning in a group environment, the home-school relationship, and carrying out supplementary responsibilities related to the children's programs.) This book is considered an experimental edition. Comments from users are encouraged. (BD)
