Bluebonnet Fiber Collages
Sterling, Joan
Arts & Activities, v146 n4 p30-31 Dec 2009
This article presents a lesson that uses stitching and applique techniques to create a fiber collage in which every child is successful with high-quality work. This lesson was inspired by Tomie dePaola's "The Legend of the Bluebonnet." The back cover had a lovely illustration of the bluebonnet flower the author thought would translate easily to a kindergarten fiber collage. By carefully orchestrating every step and preparing the materials in advance, every class in this lesson was an enjoyable experience for both the children and teacher. (Contains 1 resource.)
