Clothing and Textiles (Intermediate). Performance Objectives and Criterion-Referenced Test Items.
Missouri Univ., Columbia. Instructional Materials Lab.
This guide was developed to assist home economics teachers in implementing the Missouri Vocational Instructional Management System in an intermediate clothing and textiles semester course. A minimum of two performance objectives were developed and validated for each competency by teachers with expertise in the area of clothing and textiles and one criterion-referenced test item was developed and validated for each performance objective. Each performance objective consists of a given, a task, and criteria for successful completion of the task. Test item formats include true/false, multiple choice, and matching; answers are provided. Performance objectives and test items are provided for the following: recognizing functions of dress; differentiating clothing for multiple roles; recognizing wardrobe needs for multiple roles; identifying consumer protection regulations; preparing a clothing budget; evaluating care methods of textile products; describing alteration techniques; comparing quality and features of construction equipment and aids; selecting patterns with specific construction techniques; recognizing careers in clothing and textiles; identifying types of small businesses; and developing leadership through Future Homemakers of America. A brief resource list also is included. (KC)
