Wang, Aimin; Stevens, Brenda; Chen, Ping; Qian, Mingyi
Journal of Research in Childhood Education, v14 n1 p91-102 Fall-Win 1999
Examined impact of Chinese family socialization practices on children's socialization over 4 years. Found that parental reasoning, intellectual stimulation, and encouragement of independence were significant indicators of overall family socialization practices. Children's self-control, and positive attitudes toward others and toward work were significant indicators of children's overall socialization. Four of five hypotheses regarding paths of influence were statistically significant. (Author/KB)
