The story presented in this booklet is concerned with the life of an eighty year old Chinese immigrant woman living in Hawaii. The narration provides a brief overview of the woman's birth, childhood, early adulthood in China, and immigration to Hawaii. Her life in Hawaii is described in terms of the work she did, her arranged marriage, her attitudes toward her daughter's marriage and separation, her relationship with her grandchildren, her leisure activities, and her attempts to become an American citizen.
