Cell Phones and PDA's Hit K-6
Dodds, Richard; Mason, Christine Y.
Education Digest: Essential Readings Condensed for Quick Review, v70 n8 p52-53 Apr 2005
Although cell phones keep kids in touch with families and personal digital assistants (PDA's) help organize assignments and give Internet access, when they are added to the school climate, educators must reassess policies so technology does not interfere with instruction time. This article discusses the several effects of cell phones to K-6 students. Students sometimes use cell phone text-messaging to cheat on tests or for other inappropriate activity. Several offenses made by the students using cell phones are also presented.
