Compiled to serve as a reference to help teachers locate outdoor education materials available from Canadian government and private agencies, this catalogue lists services and publications which can be utilized by educators in planning and implementing outdoor education programs. Among the services listed is a sampling of organizations, departments, agencies, societies, and associations that can be contacted for information and resources for outdoor education programs; this includes addresses and, for most entries, telephone numbers. A list of campsites provides sources to contact and a checklist of items to consider in choosing facilities for programs. Publications, books, and audio-visual materials listed include those from various provincial departments, federal departments, and private organizations, arranged according to subject areas relevant to outdoor education and type of material (pamphlets, books, periodicals, cassettes and kits, filmloops, audio and video tapes, films, and maps, charts and air photos). Film listings are annotated; audio and video tapes are divided by age groups for which they would be appropriate. Parks and libraries which might be useful for outdoor education programs are also listed. (JD)
