It's Not Funny: A Case Study
Méndez-Morse, Sylvia
Journal of Cases in Educational Leadership, v18 n4 p275-283 Dec 2015
This case study may be used with personnel supervision, school law, and other school leadership courses. It describes the behavior and actions of one teacher toward another. Student discussions can focus on supervision, workplace mobbing, workplace bullying, as well as sexual harassment. Students should focus on a school leader's role in such situations. The case can be used to examine appropriate supervision, personnel policy and laws, and/or school leadership and its influence on organizational culture. Students decide what the principal should do next to address the situation and what a long-term plan should include for preventing similar scenarios in the future.
