Examined correlates of caregiver burden among 30 caregivers of Alzheimer's disease patients. Results revealed no significant correlation between length of time a caregiver had given care to a particular patient and the caregiver's subjective feelings of caregiver burden. Found significant, moderate correlation between caregiver burden and patient functional ability. Caregivers' subjective feelings and needs best predicted feelings of burden. (Author/NB)
