The Work of the Prince's Teaching Institute--Insisting that Established Subjects Matter to All Pupils
Roberts, Martin
Education 3-13, v40 n2 p117-128 2012
The Prince's Teaching Institute (PTI), which has evolved out of the Summer Schools for English Literature and History which The Prince of Wales inaugurated in 2002, now provides a variety of courses in the major subjects of the secondary curriculum. In partnership with Cambridge University it enables teachers to update and extend their subject knowledge. At a time when the value of established subjects is being questioned by some educationists, PTI insists on the importance of established subjects for all pupils.
