Primary Schooling in Burundi and Kenya: Preparation for Secondary Education or for Self-Employment?
Eisemon, Thomas Owen; Schwille, John
Elementary School Journal, v92 n1 p23-39 Sep 1991
Reports on a series of studies on the issue of whether primary schools in Burundi and Kenya should prepare students for secondary education or self-employment. Findings indicate that as long as some children go on to secondary school, primary schooling will not be reformed. Content and methods of instruction will not be changed in the near future. (BB)
