Intended for friends and families of children with disabilities, the book contains information and suggestions on play activities, toys, and games for children (0-8) with mild and moderate disabilities. Activities are sequenced from simpler to more developmentally advanced within six major categories (1) exploring the senses (hid and find, flashlight games); (2) exploring movement (roly-poly games, ball, family bunny hop, home-made scooter boards); (3) exploring outdoors, waterplay and make-believe (sandplay, outdoor art, box creations); (4) exploring arts and crafts (homemade fingerpaint, baker's clay, screen painting, tie dye); (5) exploring music and rhythm (finger play games, action songs and chants, rhythm and musical instruments); and (6) exploring group activities (bean bag toss, circle games, dramatic play).
