Reusing Old Manufacturing Buildings
Roman, Harry T.
Technology and Engineering Teacher, v73 n7 p30-31 Apr 2014
This article presents an interesting design challenge for students, one that will certainly let them integrate subject matter and get a sense of pride for doing something useful in their own community. The author would be willing to bet that the average town or city has some old red brick manufacturing building(s) that have seen much better days. Now abandoned or not being used, these sturdy buildings could have a very productive second life. All they need is some student excitement and possibilities. This article presents an activity to challenge students to develop new ways to use old buildings.
