The Great Lakes Environmental Finance Center is one of six university-based environmental finance centers established by the federal government. Its primary mission is to help state and local government and private-sector organizations devise effective financing strategies for environmental improvement projects. Cross-sector collaboration and strategic partnering are central to two focus activities: brownfield site cleanup and industrial pollution prevention. (Author/MSE)
