Current Resources in Cooperative Learning.
Wade, Anne; And Others
This annotated bibliography of the current resources in cooperative learning is the result of a comprehensive search of the literature in the fields of education, psychology, sociology, linguistics, and business. It contains 926 citations of books, journal articles, periodicals, and non-print material pertaining to cooperative/collaborative learning or cooperative group work. The purpose of this guide is to serve as a general, up-to-date source of reference for those who are interested in obtaining theoretical and practical material on cooperative learning. It should not be considered an exhaustive source, but as a reference tool that will encourage additional research in the area of cooperative learning. In addition, educators can use this as a resource for both preservice and inservice training to aid those interested in developing effective classroom techniques. The first section, "Theoretical Considerations," covers books and journal articles. The second section, "Practical Considerations," includes three parts: "General Material," consisting of books, journal articles, non-print material, and periodicals; "Subject Areas," which consists of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Second Language Instruction, and Social Studies; and "Special Topics," which consists of Early Childhood Education, Educational Technology, Multicultural Education, Postsecondary Education, Special Education, and Teacher Education. Author and subject indices follow the main body of the text. (Author/MAS)
