Instructional Materials for Teaching Audiovisual Courses; An Annotated List of Motion Pictures, Kinescopes, Filmstrips, Slidesets, Recordings, Tapes, and Prints
Shockey, Carolyn, Ed.
A catalog of audio and visual meterials for teaching courses on or illustrating all aspects of audiovisual instruction was developed with a broad coverage of those areas or interests pertinent to the field of instructional communications. The listings should be of value to the college instructor in the area of instructional materials, as well as to the practicing audiovisual specialist or librarian in his in-service program. The kinds of materials cataloged are tapes, slides, transparencies, prints, programed materials, films, filmstrips, and records (discs) which are produced by over 150 manufacturers. In addition to a brief annotation, each entry contains information on manfacturer, availability, cost, and physical characteristics such as tape speed, color, black and white, sound, silent, number of frames, and showing time. Each entry is also classified as to the main focus or foci of the message, whether it is theory, description, utilization, production, research, or appreciation. The entries are arranged by subject matter under the broad headings: administration, communications, class activities, computers, programed instruction, projected materials, broadcast and recorded materials, non-projected materials, display materials, photography, and graphic materials. Further subject breakdowns occur where appropriate. To locate materials by title, a title listing is also provided. (MT)
