This publication is a guide to the biome research conducted under the International Biological Program. The guide lists biome researchers by interest and by biome as well as a central list. A site list, map, information sources section reporting abstracts, bibliographies, journals, books, evaluations, and data books are also included. Three appendices give additional information especially on biome data sets. The biome researchers directory portion of this guide lists many biome researchers, giving their 1977 addresses and telephone numbers, and indicating the biome they studied and their special interest. The information sources section on published and unpublished bibliography sources includes descriptions of available materials and contacts to facilitate their acquisition. This guide may also be useful to natural and social scientists working on problems of environmental assessment and to those persons involved in natural resource management. (MR)
