Building an Understanding of Evolution: An Online Resource for Teaching and Learning
Scotchmoor, Judy; Thanukos, Anastasia
McGill Journal of Education, v42 n2 p225-244 2007
The Understanding Evolution website (http://evolution.berkeley.edu/) was developed to provide a freely accessible resource that promotes the teaching of evolution and improved understandings of evolution among students and the general public. Evaluations show that the strategies employed in site design have allowed it to effectively meet those goals, while maintaining a practical and scientific perspective on this topic and remaining disentangled from the "controversy" related to evolution in the public sphere. (Contains 4 figures and 2 tables.)
