A resource book for the development of arts education in the community is presented in four sections. Section I lists seven of the Wisconsin State Plan Community Related Objectives: to initiate or expand communication between arts groups, arts institutions, and public and private organizations; expand arts education programs for adults through existing social, religious, professional, and national organizations; develop arts education programs for special populations; involve community artists in elementary and secondary school programs; develop community based arts education programming; encourage the involvement of professional artists and groups outside of the public school curriculum; and expand the commitment of business, industry, and labor leaders to arts experiences for the benefit of employees, employers, and the community. Section II outlines procedures for workshops to develop implementation strategies. Section III, the major part of the document, provides an analysis in chart form for achieving each of the seven objectives. The chart lists actions; activities for implementation; agencies, groups, and persons responsible for action; when the objective may be achieved; the present status of the objective; and sources for further information. The final section lists organizations for information related to community arts education in Wisconsin. (KC)
