Fifteen articles by different authors discuss behavior modification in terms of research, training, and social application. Topics considered include the classification of behavioral pathology, the extension of learning principles to human behavior, studies of normal and deviant child behavior, operant conditioning of two speech-deficient boys, stuttering and fluency as manipulatable operant response classes, studies of interview speech behavior, verbal conditioning and psychotherapy, and the human reinforcer in verbal behavior research. Also provided are articles on vicarious human reinforcements, the reinforcement of individual actions in a group situation, attempted behavior manipulation in a psychiatric ward, designing neurotic computers, and modeling procedures and hypnosis as modification techniques.
