Leadership: A Balancing Act
Hines, Thomas E.
New Directions for Community Colleges, n156 p73-85 Win 2011
Maintaining balance in leadership can be difficult because balance is affected by the personality, strengths, and attitudes of the leader as well as the complicated environment within and outside the community college itself. This article explores what being a leader at the community college means, what the threats are to effective leadership, and what factors leaders should be especially concerned with as colleges face new challenges and demands. The author presents several key ideas about leadership.
