Are Young People Biased against Older Teachers?
Peterson, Candida C.
Journal of Genetic Psychology, v136 n2 p309-10 Jun 1980
Elementary school students and university students indicated they preferred younger male and female (under 35) to older teachers. Personality and competence were given as reasons for their preferences by sixth graders and university students. Younger children gave no explanation nor did they indicate teacher appearance or resemblance to well-known "others" as influencing their preference for younger teachers. (DB)
