Examined self-concept, eating attitudes, and dieting behavior in female junior high school students (n=159). Findings revealed two factors as predisposing factors for development of eating problems: poor self-concept and active involvement or interest in dieting. Findings were similar to findings from patients who already had existing eating disorders. (NB)
