This publication presents some of the highlights of financial information summarized from the national collections of vocational education and training (VET) data in Australia for 1998. The report includes detailed statistics for Australia, its eight states and territories, and the Australian National Training Authority. The financial information provided includes primary summaries that focus on the following: (1) revenues and expenses (to show financial performance); (2) assets and liabilities (to show financial position); and (3) cash flows (to show how activities are financed). In accordance with contemporary financial reporting trends, the report also presents the figures classified by activity, to show the major areas where the money is spent (a change from previous practices). Forty-five tables and four reports are included in the report. The report shows an increase in numbers of students and annual hours of training with little increase in expenditures. (KC)
