An Evaluation of the SOAR-High Project: A Web-Based Science Program for Deaf Students.
Barman, Charles R.; Stockton, Jamie D.
American Annals of the Deaf, v147 n3 p5-10 Jul 2002
This study evaluated the SOAR-High (Science, Observing, and Reporting-High School) Project, a Web-based earth systems science course involving collaborating teachers and deaf students. Findings indicated students became more proficient in using science process skills stressed by the curriculum, better able to work independently, and more motivated. However, some students had difficulties with the material's reading levels. (Contains 4 references.) (Author/DB)
