Relationship between Running Speed and Cognitive Processes in Orienteering: Two Empirical Studies.
Cheshikhina, Valentina V.
Scientific Journal of Orienteering, v9 n1-2 p49-59 Fall 1993
Fourteen qualified orienteers completed a stepwise increased treadmill velocity test in which controls had to be transferred from a master map. Orienteering accuracy was greatest at the anaerobic threshold speed. In a second study, 17 orienteers performed arithmetic tasks before and after a treadmill workout. Performance was significantly better after all workouts. (KS)
